What I do

  • Run a TikTok channel sharing college help and pre-uni advice, now documenting the move into university life.

  • Review performance after every post to work out which hooks and formats hold attention, and build the next video around what works.

Games Host · Brean Theme Park · April - November 2025 and March - September 2026

Brean Theme Park

I worked at Brean Theme Park on the games stands, where my job was to be enthusiastic and make sure the customers had a positive experience playing the games, making the games and the park as a whole a fun atmosphere to be in.

My £330 day was on basketball, tucked away in another bit of the theme park, against a daily average of around £25.

Training the team

My personal responsibility was to train all of the new employees so they could be happy and bring life to the games, but also drive sales and hit revenue expectations. I was chosen by management to train every new team member on payments, customer approach and rapport building.

Recognition

Because of my enthusiasm, determination and sales ability, I was constantly recognised by my managers and quickly given additional responsibilities to further demonstrate my skills as a leader.

  • Beat the daily takings average consistently, reaching over 11x the average on two separate occasions through upselling and customer retention tactics.
  • Recognised by managers and the owner as one of the strongest workers on site, with a perfect attendance record across every scheduled shift.
  • Made sure the games were played properly, no one broke the rules and everyone had a great time and a positive attitude whilst playing.
Marketing Work Experience · Weston College · June 2025

Weston College marketing

During the summer of 2025, I did a week of work experience at the marketing department of Weston College, where I was involved with different members of the marketing team each day.

I focused on varying sides of the marketing at the college, such as the Weston College, UCW and West of England Institute of Technology websites and the social media.

ESOL Cooking Challenge

I was tasked with covering the ESOL Cooking Challenge from start to finish, which involved getting statements from the students and the staff about the event, taking various pictures of them cooking and the finished food. Then we wrote an article to tell the story of ESOL students doing their final assessment.

Posters in Canva

I designed posters for some courses in Canva, using the college's brand colour palette, typography and positioning but with my own creative input and ideas, and these were all signed off and used in official Weston College advertising.

The New York article

The one piece I am most proud of is my article on my trip to New York with the college, the business capital of the world, documenting everything that happened every day, the places we went and the lessons we learnt along the way. It was well received by marketing managers, directors and course lecturers.

Research and social media

  • Analysed competitor websites and other social media outlets as a member of the college's target audience.
  • Helped produce social media posts and articles, captioning posts to resonate with the target audience.
  • Had my content ideas used across the college social media accounts.
  • Trusted with more complex projects after the team recognised the accuracy and detail of my early work.

At the end of my work experience, I was commended by many members of the team for the high standard of work and my attitude in the work environment.

Enterprise projects.

My course hosts an enterprise project, where the business students get a £50 budget and must make as much money as possible for the Weston Hospice charity.

Halloween and Christmas candles

My idea was making Halloween and Christmas themed candles to capitalise on the increased spending of those two holidays.

After this was approved we got our moulds, wax and wicks to start production as soon as possible. I quickly got videos of the candles being produced and uploaded them to short form platforms to try and gain an initial following to drive more people to the events.

Because of our marketing and sales, we sold quite a few Halloween candles, which enabled us to reinvest into Christmas themed candles. I emailed many Christmas markets and managed to secure three market spots, which allowed us to sell a lot more candles in such a short space.

We made £600 and came second in the entire project, and we presented it in front of senior people from the charity.

2025 · My idea

Wooden bauble kits

We made wooden bauble bundles, consisting of wooden baubles, paints, brushes, string and a bell, for under £5 with 100% profit per kit.

  • I had the idea, found the stock and assembled the products.
  • Worked closely with our mentor to make marketing material for the social media accounts.
  • Outreached to many businesses.
  • Went to two markets and a hotel to sell stock.

Projects.

Mobile app · Building solo

Roam, a travel logging app

Roam is a travel logging app. It's a solo-built mobile app using Expo, Supabase and PostGIS.

The pivot

A major strategic pivot towards a personal travel record over a social network, with a Letterboxd-inspired social layer: countries, trending and journeys replacing a feed.

What's done

  • Screen designs for the home tab, progress tab, search and infinite scroll.
  • A comprehensive product requirements document.
  • UK Online Safety Act compliance research.
Campaign · BTEC coursework

Student recruitment campaign

My favourite piece of coursework was a campaign I designed to recruit prospective students to a higher education provider, built around TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

I argued the testimonials should come from students rather than staff, because it lands harder coming from someone already living it.

About me.

Since college, I have had a passion for social media marketing, the psychology behind marketing campaigns, brand images, colours and typography, and above all, the ability to tell a story.

I would like to study marketing because it interests me greatly: the psychology behind consumer decisions and choices, and the ways subtle marketing messages can influence people in all sorts of ways.

I chose Staffordshire because the BSc in Digital and Social Media Marketing fits what I actually want to do rather than marketing in general. I went to the open day and spent most of it talking to the course lecturers rather than walking round.

A campaign I love

One example is the "This is an Xbox" campaign, where Xbox used a very creative and attention grabbing message, paired with a great campaign showing that Xbox games can be played on a lot more devices than before, therefore making them an Xbox. It interests me because of its widespread application: they made merch and used traditional and more modern media in a variety of ways.

Technology and AI

I also have a strong interest in technology, and with the growing shift towards digital marketing and the increasing role of AI, I see an opportunity to specialise in an emerging area of the industry. This combination of creativity and technology would allow me to offer innovative solutions and stand out in a competitive field.

An entrepreneurial mindset

I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset, which I have put into practice by attempting to scale various online stores and social media brands. These ventures required me to research markets, test marketing strategies and manage budgets, learning from my mistakes along the way. The process taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to assess and respond to feedback quickly.
